Compliance Investigations Officer Role

The role of Compliance Investigations Officer at the Queensland Government involves conducting thorough investigations into potential licence holder breaches and other parties who may infringe legislative requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct detailed investigations into potential legislation breaches administered by the QBCC, including job site operations.
  2. Develop investigation plans, manage high-volume caseloads, and apply best-practice investigative techniques (e.g., offence elementisation, evidence matrix development, interviews).
  3. Prepare comprehensive briefs of evidence for disciplinary, civil, or criminal proceedings.
  4. Pursue proactive compliance activities including audits and surveillance.
  5. Provide expert advice to internal staff and external stakeholders on regulatory matters.
  6. Represent the organisation in educational activities and tribunal or court proceedings.
  7. Deliver exceptional customer service and support the Regional Service Centre's day-to-day operations.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Investigation or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum of three years' investigative experience, ideally in a government or regulatory environment.
  • Strong alignment with the organization's vision and values, demonstrating resilience, initiative, and a commitment to customer engagement.
  • Able to build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and uphold professional and legislative standards.
