At Kirinari Community Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Complex Care Team. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with clients who experience challenging behaviors, utilizing a trauma-informed care approach to provide a safe and supportive environment.

About the Role

This role involves developing and implementing individualized support plans, working in various settings such as homes, schools, hospitals, community centers, and emergency accommodation. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying and supporting growth needs, while promoting a strength-based, non-punitive therapeutic model of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans for clients
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families, and other stakeholders to achieve goals and outcomes
  • Provide emotional and practical support to clients, promoting independence and self-advocacy
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment, providing guidance and support to colleagues as needed
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong interest in youth work, mental health, and disability services, with a qualification in Community Services (Cert IV) being highly regarded. Your understanding of strength-based trauma-informed practice frameworks and the NSW Child Safe Standards will also be essential.

Able to work shift work, regular sleepovers/active nights, weekends, and public/school holidays, you will need significant availability to meet the demands of this role. Additionally, you must be able to obtain the NDIS Workers Screen Check prior to commencement and hold a paid NSW Working with Children Check prior to starting employment.
