Job DescriptionDeliver exceptional dining experiences by providing culinary excellence. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will work effectively within a team environment to provide excellent internal service and promote a positive working environment.
- Prepare, cook and present delicious food made to order with care;
- Maintain workplace hygiene procedures (HACCP) ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are met;
- Report any issues that may affect kitchen operations immediately to the Head Chef;
- Conduct food preparation and cooking duties, ensuring menu items are prepared to recipe and quality standards;
- Be aware of meal times and the importance of timeliness, efficiency and presentation of all meals;
- Arrange, prepare and break down the buffet and food displays while maintaining high standards of presentation.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Certificate III Commercial Cookery qualification or equivalent;
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures;
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks;
- Effective communication skills;
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and retain directions;
- Basic knowledge of guest dietary requirements such as food allergies and intolerances;
- Knowledge of food safety principles;
- Food Safety Certification an advantage;
- Industry experience in high-volume kitchen operations.
