About the Job
We are seeking a highly experienced Business Development Leader to drive business growth and marketing strategies across our NSW Government and Dispute Resolution Business Unit portfolios.
This role will involve strategy development, revenue growth, and client engagement. You will be pivotal in supporting Partners to identify market opportunities, assess sales potential, develop value propositions, and manage key pursuits and tenders.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Execute Market Growth Strategies: Collaborate with DR BU Leader and NSW Government CRP to create and implement successful market growth initiatives.
- Activate Opportunities for Partners: Strategically work with Partners and Senior Lawyers to expand the client footprint and enhance market reputation.
- Client Strategy and Planning: Develop effective client strategies and account plans, identifying meaningful avenues to profile the group's expertise internally and externally.
- Client Service Team Management: Lead the management of client service team plans and meetings, client planning sessions, and workshops.
- Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data to identify strategic trends, insights, opportunities, and share learnings to inform decisions and solutions on marketing strategy.
- Pipeline Pursuits and Campaigns: Assist with proactive pipeline pursuit development and create tailored campaigns for target opportunities.
- Marketing Effectiveness Assessment: Measure, assess, and report on the effectiveness of marketing and business development efforts, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

You will bring professional services business development and client management experience, knowledge of working in a similar environment, and the ability to shape this role. We welcome applications from seasoned BD professionals who possess:

- Matrix Management: Ability to work within a matrix management structure.
- Pitch and Proposal Experience: Experience leading key stakeholders to evaluate and deliver pitch, tender, and proposal responses.
- Cross-Firm Collaboration: Agility to work with Partners to develop strategies for key clients by building relationships with clients and industry leaders.
- Client Listening: Ability to drive internal and external client listening opportunities.
- Campaign Development: Campaign development to support key revenue growth strategies.
- Exceptional Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proactive Approach: Highly proactive with identifying cross-firm opportunities and a client-service focus.
- Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, or Business or a related discipline (can be in addition to a law or business unit-related degree).
- Marketing and Sales Experience: Marketing and/or sales experience in a robust and mature services environment, ideally B2B or Professional Services.
