Job Summary

This role provides leadership and support to a team of family support workers in a mental health service. The successful candidate will have experience working with people experiencing mental illness and/or disability, and be able to provide evidence-based interventions.

The Service Leader is responsible for leading the team, providing instructions, guidance and support, and actively working with them to improve identified skill areas. They also understand the scope of the service, triage referrals, and carry a small case load.

In this role, you will work closely with the Centre Manager to provide leadership, practice development and mentoring sessions to a team of Family Support workers. You will also be responsible for monitoring and reviewing systems and processes used in the service, analyzing delivery outcomes and enhancing the effectiveness of support for people with mental illness or disability.

You will be based in Townsville, working full-time in a permanent opportunity with a range of benefits including salary packaging options, meals and entertainment allowance, leave loading, Stride Rewards and paid wellbeing leave days.

To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of Cert IV in Mental Health, Community Services or other related discipline, and relevant experience and skills in working with people experiencing mental illness and/or disability. You will also need to demonstrate effective listening, communication skills, empathy and the capacity to relate with others with dignity and respect.
