QCS is hiring a Mental Health Team Leader at Woodford Correctional Centre. This leadership role oversees a multi-disciplinary team, providing clinical supervision and operational management. The team delivers assessments, group and individual interventions, and crisis management within a case management framework. You'll lead meetings on suicide risk and complex prisoner needs, collaborate with stakeholders, and apply advanced clinical skills and judgement. The QCS mental health workforce is currently undergoing a period of change and is expanding its psychology leadership workforce to include experienced social workers and occupational therapists. There has never been a more exciting time to come and work with us in one of these roles.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrating your advanced clinical skills in the provision of clinical care, and maintaining a client caseload commensurate with responsibilities of the role.
  • Using frameworks to guide professional judgement, problem solve and manage complex situations.
  • Coordinating the process of referral, crisis management, assessment, reviews and transition planning within a case management framework.
  • Chairing and leading multi-disciplinary meetings, for example, those that oversee centre decision-making regarding suicide risk assessment and management, and case management of prisoners with complex needs.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to develop partnerships that contribute to operational and clinical outcomes.
Leadership and Supervision

As a team leader, you will direct, manage and coach using contemporary human resource practices, and share your professional and clinical knowledge to help build consistent service delivery capability.

To be successful in this role, you will use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to create an engaged and high performing team which understands the importance of work/life balance and strong team culture.
