About the Role:

The Food Services Assistant is responsible for contributing to the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Food Safety Program (FSP) under the direction of the Chef/Cook. This role provides quality food and beverages to meet individual resident needs and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to menu planning based on resident needs and preferences
  • Prepare, serve, present, and deliver food and refreshments in accordance with the FSP
  • Participate in general cleaning in accordance with the FSP
  • Assist with monitoring and recording requirements of the FSP, including temperature recording and receipting goods
  • Ensure timely delivery of meals and refreshments to all residents
  • Report any concerns or difficulties experienced with care recipients related to food and beverages to the Registered Nurse In Charge
Essential Requirements:
  • Food Handling Course completion
  • Current National Police Certificate or ability to acquire
  • Experience in residential aged care food services
  • Meet Aged Care Worker Screening requirements to ensure suitability for the aged care industry
