Scientific Laboratory Assistant

The role of a laboratory specialist involves the receipt and analysis of specimens, as well as the reporting of test results and validation as required.
Key Responsibilities:- To receive and analyze biological samples
- To report test outcomes and validate as necessary
- To inform relevant clinicians of urgent and abnormal findings
- To participate in routine testing in Biochemistry, Haematology, and Stat Microbiology disciplines
- To maintain precise records of laboratory procedures and ensure adherence to all laboratory safety and quality standards
- To perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Maintaining quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Preparing and processing laboratory samples according to established protocols
- Monitoring and maintaining quality control standards
- Record maintenance skills
- Performing a range of clinical laboratory tests and chemical analyses on biological samples
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma ANZSCO Skill level 2
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
