Role Overview

This position involves overseeing clinical services and interventions for gastroenterology patients within a healthcare facility, contributing to cancer care as part of the local health district.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality clinical care to inpatients admitted under the Gastroenterology Service.
  • Provide specialist consultation, including outpatient services.
  • Lead junior colleagues to ensure consistent delivery of best-practice patient care.
  • Commit to equitable healthcare delivery.
About You / Qualifications
  • Hold a Primary Medical Degree registrable with AHPRA and FRACP, with recognised qualifications in Gastroenterology or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate current gastroenterology practice, including endoscopy and adaptability to contemporary evidence-based best practice.
  • Show capacity for clinical leadership and willingness to contribute to undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and clinical research.
  • Demonstrate understanding of clinical governance to promote quality and safety, with experience in evidence-based practice.
  • Demonstrate understanding of transfer of care and patient flow principles aligned to community and hospital needs.
  • Show strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Requirements
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Fully registered with AHPRA and FRACP.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
