Senior Mechanical Engineer

The role of a Senior Mechanical Engineer involves working alongside other engineering authorities to liaise with stakeholders, conduct engineering assessments, and review Engineering Change Proposals. As a highly skilled and experienced mechanical engineer, you will demonstrate advanced technical theories, methodologies, principles, and expertise to provide innovative solutions to the current phase of the project.

You will have the opportunity to learn, share knowledge, and be mentored on engineering methodology and processes. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure that mechanical design artefacts are compatible with the baselined product.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct systems analysis to derive function, performance, and interface requirements to meet electrical safety parameters.
  • Engage with System Design activities to ensure that mechanical design artefacts are compatible with the baselined product.
  • Perform technical risk analysis to support development and review of hazard logs, safety case arguments, and risk mitigation actions.
  • Ensure assigned mechanical components are developed and implemented according to appropriate standards and procedures.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant mechanical/mechatronics/structural engineering discipline.
  • Experience in an engineering discipline including involvement in one or more of the following: Requirements Definition, Management, Analysis, Design, and Verification and Validation.
  • Experience in effectively representing engineering professional services to both internal and external customers.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience when a university degree is held.
  • Experience with 3D CAD parametric modelling software.
