About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Engineer to join our TBM team based in Watsonia. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career in tunnelling and join an established team that is passionate about helping you develop your skillset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and Administer Construction Engineering Activities: Ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications.
  • Review and Understand FRP, Precast, Concrete, Drainage, and Road Formations: Develop a deep understanding of these critical components of tunnel construction.
  • Knowledge of Tunnel Underground Construction Practices: Stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and best practices in tunnel engineering.
  • Assist with the Preparation of Site Construction Budgets and Reports: Provide accurate and timely financial information to support project decision-making.
  • Monitor Construction Progress for Adherence to Programme and Report to the Project Engineer: Ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Interpret Designs for Implementation in Construction Projects: Translate technical designs into practical construction solutions.
  • Contribute to Improvements to Existing Designs: Collaborate with the project team to identify opportunities for design improvements.
  • Arrange and Oversee the Letting of Tenders: Manage the tendering process to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrate Financial Management Skills and Commercial Acumen: Make informed decisions that balance project needs with business objectives.
  • Assign Work and Assist with Reviews for Accuracy and Adherence to Required Standards: Ensure that work is completed to the highest standard.
  • Execute Working Knowledge of Contractual and Legislation Relevant to the Project: Stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Undertake Quantitative and Qualitative Safety, Environment, and Quality Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate risks to ensure a safe and high-quality project outcome.
  • Analyse and Use Document and Record Management, Progress, and Project Performance Reporting Compliance Reporting: Provide accurate and timely information to support project decision-making.
  • Demonstrate Stakeholder Management Skills: Manage work and performance of subcontractors to achieve project outcomes.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management, or Equivalent: A strong foundation in engineering or a related field.
  • Engineering Experience: A proven track record in engineering or a related field.
  • Wide Level of Planning, Development, and Review of Projects: Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Quantitative and Qualitative Risk Assessment and Monitoring of Risk Controls and Actions: A strong understanding of risk management principles.
  • Advanced Skills in Relevant Computer Software Packages: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other relevant software.
  • Written, Verbal, and Presentation Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills.
