Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter/Gas Distribution Officer to undertake maintenance and construction activities associated with the gas distribution network.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintaining and constructing facilities in the gas distribution network.
  • Inspecting assets and reporting any issues related to corrosion, integrity, performance, or functionality.
  • Collecting gas samples for odorant analysis across the network.
  • Participating in the 24/7 On Call Roster for Facilities Maintenance at nominated intervals.
  • Operating machinery, equipment, and tools according to relevant policies and procedures.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience within a utilities role highly regarded.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems preferred.
  • Ability to work in various customer-based premises.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Current Workplace First Aid Certificate.
  • Working in Confined Spaces Certification.
  • Basic Worksite Traffic Management Certification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Driver's License.
