Paralegal Specialist

About the RoleIn this role, you will act on behalf of a number of Australia's major banks and non-bank lenders on secured and unsecured recovery matters. The work is fast-paced, and you will have the responsibility of managing a portfolio of files. You will also work alongside lawyers in the team with an emphasis on compliance and quality assurance.
Your duties will include:
- Start-to-end file management;
- Preparing and issuing legal documents, including statutory notices and court documents;
- Acting as the first point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communications via a specialized online web-based portal;
- Outbound and inbound calls with defaulting customers, including liaising directly with customers in relation to sensitive financial matters with the aim of reaching suitable arrangements;
- Working with lawyers to progress matters through Courts.
The successful candidate must:
- Be well-organized, with strong time-management and prioritization skills;
- Have the ability to work independently, while also being part of a friendly team environment under supportive partners, with on-the-job training to help you along the way;
- Be self-motivated and driven, with a professional outlook;
- Be able to work under pressure and deal with sensitive matters in a timely manner;
- Have superior drafting skills and strong attention to detail;
- Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with a professional phone manner.
