Job Summary:
A Network Infrastructure Deployment Specialist will be responsible for deploying network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that supports the Amazon Retail Service and AWS services.
This role involves deploying, scaling and automating our network across many global data centers, including existing footprints and new locations.
You will identify opportunities and develop tooling to increase scaling velocity and quality, creating simple, repeatable processes and improving upon existing ones.
This role also involves working closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions, bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production.
You will create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.
In addition, you will work closely with our teams in defining the platforms and frameworks that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume.
About the Role:
- Deploy network infrastructure across multiple global data centers.
- Identify opportunities to improve scaling velocity and quality.
- Develop and implement tooling to support deployment and automation.
- Create and maintain network standards and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define platform and framework architectures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field.
- 5+ years of experience working in large-scale networking environments.
- Experience with internet routing protocols, concepts such as TCP/IP, BGP, and/or OSPF, and network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos.
- Experience working in a Unix environment.
- Experience in scripting languages such as Bash or Perl.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills, specifically network performance analysis.
- Experience working with customers to diagnose problems and work towards resolution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
