Key Roles and Responsibilities for Senior Cost Engineer

Job Summary:

This is a dynamic opportunity to work in cost engineering for large-scale infrastructure projects.

The role will focus on delivering accurate and consistent cost allocations, detailed cost engineering reports, and forecasts that meet project control procedures and systems.

  • Perform earned value and productivity analysis to support delivery confidence.
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure accurate cost allocations are consistently applied.
  • Produce detailed cost engineering reports and forecasts that adhere to project control procedures.
  • Support time/work studies and site measures as required.
  • Identify cost risks and opportunities, effectively communicating them to the broader team.
  • Maintain strict adherence to project cost control procedures and systems.
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders, including project controls, commercial, and site teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or related field.
  • 8+ years of project controls or cost engineering experience in major construction, infrastructure, or mining projects.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in cost management systems.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of forecasting and earned value techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills — verbal and written — with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • Comfortable working in a site-based role within a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
