As a skilled lighting artist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality visual effects shots.

This role involves collaborating with experienced artists and supervisors to create stunning visuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scene assembly, including asset management and integration
  • Lighting shots as briefed by the Visual Effects/CG Supervisor
  • Collaboration with CG Supervisors to develop the final look of shots
  • Developing shots in collaboration with Compositors
  • Rendering non-lighting passes as required by the shot Compositor
  • Creating efficient rendering set ups to optimise render farm usage
  • Meeting deadlines while maintaining the highest levels of quality

Requirements:

  • A strong knowledge of lighting techniques
  • Previous experience with shot look development
  • A good understanding of colour-space
  • A thorough knowledge of Maya
  • Extensive knowledge of either Renderman, Arnold or similar production renderer

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with digital paint software such as Photoshop and/or Mari
  • Knowledge and experience in other render packages

Working well under pressure is essential for this role. You should be able to meet deadlines while producing high-quality results.
