Role

Grade 4 Team Leader - Forklift Operations. This role combines operational forklift duties with frontline leadership. You'll not only operate safely and efficiently but also guide a small team, ensuring compliance, performance, and the smooth execution of daily loading and unloading activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklifts to load/unload transport trucks
  • Direct, support, and oversee a small team to achieve operational goals
  • Set clear performance expectations and monitor progress
  • Plan and organise transport loads with the support of the wider transport team
  • Monitor load safety and efficiency to ensure timely dispatch
  • Complete and check relevant documentation and records
  • Estimate load limits for safe storage and transport of goods
  • Lead by example in upholding safety standards and COR compliance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and team development
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A strong safety-first mindset with knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (COR)
  • Current forklift license and proven operational experience
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in a warehouse/transport environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly, set expectations and support team development
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and collaborative team culture
