Accounting Specialist Role

Highly skilled Accounting Specialists are leaders in financial management and consultancy, providing expert advice and support to ensure compliance and drive operational efficiency.

About the Role
  • Combine management accounting with core financial accounting responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, deliver timely reports, and ensure compliance.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and comprehensive financial reports.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Maintain rolling budgets, forecasts, and cashflow models, delivering timely ad-hoc reports and reconciliations.
  3. Analysis and Insights: Analyse occupancy, WRA%, revenue, and expense trends to provide actionable insights.
  4. System Administration: Utilise Xero, Hubdoc, and Budgetly for accurate month-end accounts, journals, accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations across multiple entities.
  5. Compliance and Support: Assist with BAS, payroll tax, and compliance obligations, ensuring strict adherence to accounting standards.
  6. Payroll Processing: Support end-to-end payroll processing, including superannuation and leave liability monitoring.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (preferred but not essential).
  • Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in bookkeeping/accounting, including management reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Proficient in Xero, Hubdoc, Excel/Google Sheets; experience with Employment Hero, Budgetly, and Fathom is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of Australian accounting standards and compliance.
