As a Financial Accountant, you'll work closely with the Senior Financial Accountant to manage critical financial operations, month-end processes, and statutory compliance. You'll play a vital role in providing accurate financial reporting, analysis, and insights that contribute to our organization's continued success.

Responsibilities
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes for corporate entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare monthly Profit & Loss financial analysis and commentary
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Assist with corporate cashflow management, including monitoring cash positions and forecasting future requirements
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax agents to support the preparation of financial statements, audits, and to ensure tax compliance
  • Oversee and maintain corporate entity asset registers, ensuring accurate depreciation and asset tracking
  • Ensure timely lodgement and compliance of all statutory obligations, including BAS, PAYG withholding, FBT, Superannuation, Payroll Tax and Workcover requirements
  • Prepare and review complex account reconciliations
  • Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining strong financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure robust accounting practices and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in the implementation, enhancement, and continuous improvement of financial and accounting systems and processes
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives across the finance function
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members when required
  • Support ad hoc projects and initiatives as directed by the Senior Financial Accountant and CFO
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in finance and/or accounting
  • Previous experience in a similar role or first mover from audit
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Netsuite, Tech1, or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong relationship management capabilities
  • Professional presentation and approach
