Are you a highly skilled Planner looking for a challenging role within a global merchandising team? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team at Michael Hill's Global Support Centre in Brisbane.

This is a key leadership position that oversees the planning function within a category, including the leadership and mentorship of a planning assistant. The successful candidate will drive strategies that maximise sales and profit while managing inventory health, data integrity, and achieving closing inventory budgets.

The role requires close collaboration with the Buyers and Planners within the team, following commercial frameworks to bring strategies to life and achieve set financial outcomes. About the Opportunity
  • Partner with a Buyer to lead a category and develop product assortment with a focus on customer-centric ranging.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a planning assistant to ensure overall achievement of KPIs and continued professional growth and development.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing category and product-level sales, GP, and inventory plans, including pre-season strategy and budget setting and in-season re-forecasting. You will also plan delivery and product phasing to ensure entry and exits are executed with space, inventory, realistic sell-down plans, and GP maximisation considerations.

About You
  • You have extensive planning experience in a retail environment.
  • You possess strong business acumen supported by advanced system, forecasting, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • You have an inquisitive nature with a natural ability to identify anomalies and a solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • You can lead a planning team and work alongside buying teams with a collaborative open approach.
  • You have a positive and caring leadership style with experience developing junior planning teams.
