Job Title: IT Systems Analyst

Key Job Information:

This is a 12-month contract position with possible 3x12-month extension options, open to Australian citizens with active AGSVA Baseline security clearance and able to work on site, full time, at the National Branch Office.

The identified Cloud Systems Analyst will be working towards creating, implementing, and evolving Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps). They will analyse system use cases and platform requirements for FinOps needs including appropriate AWS service selection, dataset/user/consumption financial tracking and reporting, and overall FinOps cultural awareness and maturity improvement.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Scripting in approved programming languages such as Python,.NET, Boto3 for implementation of FinOps practices and reporting on AWS/Azure cloud native technologies
  • Analysis of use-case / platform requirements for FinOps needs, including tagging and service selection
  • Provide analysis and support for process and practices to enable FinOps
  • Develop documentation that clearly articulates the design intent, configurations, systems and business processes, issues and risks
  • Explain complex information to stakeholders during the design, management and implementation; understand system requirements and leverage expertise to solve problems
  • Recognise and understand the issues impacting on systems and recommend solutions that meet operational needs and deliver improvements
  • Evaluate the impact of change requests and errors and suggest solutions and mitigation strategies to ensure minimal impact on business operations
  • Configure and manage FinOps related activities and alerts
  • Assist in planning, prioritisation and readiness of features for commitment prior to delivery
  • Responsible for the breakdown of stories within the features; and identifying the tasks within the stories assigned to them
  • Provide FinOps related reviews and advice on Features, SOAPs (Solution On A Page), and other delivery artifacts
  • Investigate automation of FinOps output including reporting and API usage

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge or experience in working with Azure/ AWS cloud native services: essential
  • System Analysis: essential
  • Proficiency in Agile/Nexus project delivery methodology: required
  • Scripting/programming languages including Python,.NET, Boto3: desirable
  • Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) inc AWS CUR/Budgets/Billing: desirable
  • Team Foundation Server (TFS) / Azure DevOps: desirable
