Join Vault Cloud to lead the Cloud Operations function for our secure, sovereign cloud platforms serving the Australian Government, National Intelligence Community and Critical Infrastructure sector.

About Vault

Vault Cloud is the national leader of providing highly secure and hyperscale sovereign cloud capability. We pioneered Australia's only sovereign, hyperscale cloud with security at its core and are ASD certified. We are entering a growth phase with a strategic investment to scale Vault's SECRET Cloud and expand services, including AUKUS cloud capability, to address national security needs. This role supports that growth and strengthens relationships with government and private sector clients.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical operations across Vault's cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Implement, uplift and mature ITIL-based processes and frameworks.
  • Shape and scale a high-performing operations team (Infrastructure, Network, Applications) and partner with the Service Desk Lead.
  • Drive continuous improvement of service delivery, vendor management and platform modernization.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in the development and implementation of Vault's products and services, including new offerings.
  • Oversee service management across our OpenStack cloud environment and champion service excellence in a high-consequence environment.
What you'll be responsible for
  • Leading and managing a technical Operations team to deliver high performance and operational excellence.
  • Providing technical leadership in service operations through ITIL.
  • Aligning with Vault's core values and adding positive value to culture.
  • Supporting a 99.99%+ uptime, 24/7 mission-critical environment, preferably in a military/Defence context.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels to influence and execute strategic initiatives.
What's required
  • Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Australian Government security clearance.
  • Proven experience leading a technical Operations team and delivering high performance.
  • Strong leadership and ability to drive ITIL-based service operations.
  • Experience in a high-security or defence-related context is desirable.
