The Role:

This senior advisor position plays a critical role in promoting environmental compliance, sustainability, and regulatory adherence at our flagship operation, Southern Cross Operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert guidance on legislative requirements and ensuring alignment with organizational policies.
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of environmental approvals and reports.
  • Fostering a culture of proactive hazard reporting, incident investigation, and corrective action implementation.
  • Liaising with community members, stakeholders, and other relevant parties to ensure effective communication and relationship management.
  • Conducting thorough workplace inspections and driving environmental awareness through targeted training programs.
  • Maintaining accurate records of statutory monitoring and managing related databases.
  • Contributing to the development and execution of rehabilitation strategies.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in an environmental capacity within the mining industry.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant environmental laws, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • A comprehensive understanding of environmental risks and impacts associated with mining and mineral processing activities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A current 'C' Class Western Australian Driver's Licence.
