Support Peer Mentor

This role entails providing guidance and support to current university students through outreach efforts. The Casual Support Peer will be responsible for facilitating the resolution of common queries via phone calls and email communications.

About the Role
  • Deliver peer support to commencing and current university students by engaging in outbound calls and sending emails, offering study guidance and helping resolve common queries.
  • Work remotely in a virtual call centre environment, completing individual tasks while collaborating with colleagues to ensure timely completion of required calls.
  • Navigate internal resources and systems to search for and provide accurate information, confidently referring students to the appropriate support services.
About You
  • You are a current university student with a strong commitment to supporting your peers and helping them feel confident in their academic journey.
  • You communicate effectively, listen actively, demonstrate empathy, and are confident engaging in conversations that build trust and connection with others.
Selection Considerations
  • Must be a current university student and have successfully completed at least 2 trimesters/semesters of study (minimum of 4 credit points completed by the end of the relevant period).
  • Must have a minimum of two remaining trimesters/semesters of study after the relevant period.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting others in either formal roles or informal settings.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in peer-to-peer support, effective communication skills, and familiarity with the university's support services. They will also have confident computer skills, including data entry and professional use of email.
