Peer Support Specialist

As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting your peers and helping them feel confident in their university journey.

You will be responsible for providing support to commencing and current students through outbound calls and emails, offering guidance and help with common queries.

You will work remotely in a virtual environment, completing tasks while collaborating with colleagues to ensure timely completion of required tasks. You will also ensure accurate and timely record-keeping across multiple systems, including case notes and task statistics.

Additionally, you will navigate internal resources and systems to search for and provide accurate information, confidently referring students to appropriate support services. You will provide regular updates to the Coordinator, ensuring insights and trends enhance program operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to commencing and current students
  • Working remotely in a virtual environment
  • Ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping
  • Navigating internal resources and systems
  • Providing regular updates to the Coordinator

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting their peers and communicating clearly. They will demonstrate empathy, actively listen, and be confident engaging in conversations that build trust and connection with others.

The selected candidates will be current students who have successfully completed at least 2 trimesters/semesters of study and have a minimum of two remaining trimesters/semesters of study after Trimester 2, 2025. They will also have demonstrated experience supporting others and possess strong communication skills, including customer service experience.
