This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the operation of an enterprise data environment, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, securely and in alignment with ITIL best practices.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in AWS and Databricks, combined with proven operational management experience to maintain high levels of service availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead, mentor and support a team of 10 data engineers and consultants.
- Manage day-to-day operations of enterprise data platforms across AWS and Databricks.
- Implement and enforce operational standards, governance and service management processes aligned with ITIL certification.
- Monitor and optimise data platform performance, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Coordinate incident, problem and change management activities to minimise business impact.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational requirements are met.
- Drive continuous improvement across operational processes and data service delivery.
- Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks and operational procedures.
- Provide reporting and insights on service performance, risks and improvement opportunities.
- Proven experience in leading data operations teams within an enterprise environment.
- Strong expertise in AWS cloud services and Databricks.
- ITIL certification (mandatory).
- Experience managing incidents, problems, changes and service requests in line with ITIL.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to balance operational priorities with strategic improvement initiatives.
- Experience in building, managing and developing high-performing teams.
