
Dedicated Disability Support Professional Wanted

The Residential Care Officer will provide day-to-day care, supervision and emotional support to individuals with disabilities in a residential setting. This role requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team to ensure high standards of care and compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct assessments to identify client needs and develop tailored care and support plans.
- Provide assistance to clients in accessing education, training programs and community resources to enhance their development and independence.
- Collaborate with health, welfare and education professionals to provide comprehensive support services.
- Monitor and document clients' progress ensuring a high standard of care and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Facilitate social and recreational activities that promote clients' well-being and inclusion.
- Ensure the safety security and cleanliness of the residential environment.
- Address emergencies and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all client interactions.
- At least 2 years of full-time experience in a similar role or a relevant qualification with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Certification in Community Services Disability Support Social Work or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children and individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of relevant health safety and welfare regulations.
- Flexibility to work in a rostered environment including evenings weekends and public holidays.
- Experience in developing and implementing care plans.
- Demonstrate knowledge of supporting high needs clients and/or clients with behaviour of concerns.
- Knowledge of cultural diversity and the ability to work with clients from various backgrounds.
- First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
- You are a disability support worker with previous industry experience.
- You have great communication skills.
- You have experience working with behaviours of concern and mental health.
- Experience and ability to develop a positive relationship with participants and support their Individual Support Plan.
- A Certificate III in Disability or other relevant qualifications or you are working towards obtaining this qualification within 12 months.
- First Aid and CPR certificate.
- NDIS Worker Screening Yellow Card or current Yellow Card.
- Driver's licence reliable car and comprehensive insurance.
- Experience and willingness to complete personal care.
