Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance financial processes and operations, leveraging emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for business process optimization and improvement, eliminating redundancies and improving overall efficiency and productivity.
  • Design and implement the Defence Australia Innovation Program, including the framework, roadmap, and governance structure to drive systematic generation of business improvements.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and program communications, ensuring effective collaboration and influence across Defence.
  • Act as a change agent for the development and implementation of new innovations and major business process improvement initiatives, driving a cultural shift towards continuous improvement.

The Innovation and Business Process Improvement (IBPI) Directorate plays a critical role within the Financial Change and Integration Branch, driving transformative change through behavioural shifts towards continuous improvement, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving business innovation within Defence Australia.

Requirements
  • Experience in finance transformation, change management, business process optimization, or improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and facilitate collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment where new ideas and priorities are constantly emerging.
  • Actively engaged on latest developments in technology and connected with digital/innovation/finance networks to bring fresh ideas into Defence Australia.
  • High levels of integrity and a commitment to act in accordance with APS and Defence values and behaviours.
