About the Project

The Devonport East Berth E3 Redevelopment is a significant construction project in Tasmania. The project aims to accommodate two new vessels from Finland, which will replace the iconic red and white ships known as the Spirit of Tasmania I&II. As part of this initiative, TT Line, a Tasmanian state-owned corporation, has appointed BMD Constructions as the Principal Contractor responsible for overseeing and executing civil, marine, and building works. The upgraded site and facilities will house a new state-of-the-art terminal, resulting in enhanced vessel operation efficiency and an unparalleled customer experience.

About the Role

We are seeking a Site Engineer to join our high-calibre team based in Devonport. As a Site Engineer, you will draw on your demonstrated site and engineering experience to:

  • Work closely with site supervisors to provide engineering and technical support
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of activities
  • Provide innovative solutions to complex challenges and strive towards safety, environmental, specification, design, and contractual requirements
  • Manage the quality assurance of works and oversee procurement requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attitude towards health, safety, environmental, and quality outcomes, embedding this commitment in everything you do
  • Motivation to achieve value-for-money results
  • Experience with reputable local contractors working on civil construction projects ranging in value - previous experience with major tier one or two contractors undertaking similar work.
