About the Role

The Safeguards Team is a new Child, Adolescent, and Youth Acute Mental Health Service providing timely, best-practice care to children and adolescents (0-17 years) experiencing acute mental health distress.

This community-based team delivers rapid, mobile, and flexible care, including assessment, assertive outreach, and referrals. Where appropriate, the team provides brief therapeutic interventions and short-term care coordination.

Safeguards currently operates within an integrated model alongside the adult Acute Care Team (ACT), focusing on acute child and adolescent mental health while working closely with other services, families, and carers.

As a Social Worker Level 3, you will be involved in delivering a range of services that support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. Your expertise will be valued as part of our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality services to children and young people, incorporating individualized approaches based on their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues from various disciplines to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop effective treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based practices when possible.
