Role Summary

Midwifery Care Specialist

This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality midwifery care to rural communities. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe and culturally appropriate services across various settings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based midwifery care throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and postnatal periods.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe and culturally appropriate services.
  • Provide responsive, compassionate, and patient-centred care in rural and remote areas.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive environment.
  • Be adaptable in clinical settings with limited resources.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Midwife with AHPRA.
  • A minimum of 3 years of full-time midwifery experience.
  • A minimum of 250 hours of relevant clinical midwifery practice within the past 12 months.
  • Evidence of current CPR or BLS training with a practical component.
  • Up-to-date CTG training according to RANZCOG guidelines.
