Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Engineering Director with extensive experience in the railway industry for a Technical Advisory program. As an Engineering Director, you will be responsible for establishing an efficient engineering project delivery and control organization for Greek Railways.
You will collaborate with our team members and clients to ensure successful and sustainable implementation. Your focus will be on achieving the program's goals and fostering collaboration among internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Strategic control of engineering projects for network renovation, modernization, expansion, investments, and funding
- Develop long-term infrastructure strategies aligned with national transport plans
- Participate in medium-term planning
- Cordinate with maintenance regarding planned investments
- Establish lifecycle-based asset management model for infrastructure and rolling stock
- Embed preventive maintenance, digital diagnostics, and safety KPIs into the organization
- Create revenue models for infrastructure access, rolling stock leasing, and service-level agreements
- Control budgets and ensure accountability for investments and replacements
- Standardize contract and stakeholder management to ensure transparency and cost-effectiveness
- Prior experience in the railway industry is required
- University degree in business, engineering, project management, or a similar field, with relevant professional experience in a complex role
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in similar tasks
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP)
- At least 5 years of leadership experience
- Experience in infrastructure investment planning
- Impartial moderation skills and intercultural sensitivity
- Familiarity with Greek administrative standards
