About this role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of plans for social and cultural infrastructure, placing the community at the forefront. You will work on key initiatives including developing and implementing the Social Plan, Creativity Strategy, Library Strategy, Halls & Facilities Strategy, Disability Inclusion Action Plan, and Reconciliation Action Plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the proactive and positive development of cultural and social infrastructure.
  • Lead the development and delivery of Council plans related to social and cultural initiatives.
  • Foster a high-performing team environment, identify gaps, and provide solutions.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to translate innovative plans into actions.
About Us

We are seeking a leader who can inspire collaboration and develop a multi-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate should be able to think creatively and drive outcomes through partnerships.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in community development, cultural and social infrastructure planning, town planning, social sciences, economics, commerce, infrastructure advisory, or business management.
  • Ability to develop and implement a vision for proactive development of Council's Cultural and Social infrastructure.
  • Strong relationship-building, influencing, consultation, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of the interface between public wellbeing, urban design, and community planning to achieve positive social, economic, and environmental outcomes.
  • Experience in policy and strategy development and implementation, with ability to deliver research, analysis and conceptual thinking.
  • Demonstrated project management ability to develop, administer and manage projects with diverse outcomes.
