Job Description

As a Coordinator of Community Engagement, you will oversee the delivery of leisure and lifestyle programs in our care homes. You will manage a team of recreational activity officers responsible for promoting emotional and physical rehabilitation through person-first recreational activities that promote holistic wellbeing, including providing residents with quality care, and actively supporting them to maintain their skill levels, independence and mobility and proving respite support to their family/carers.

You will be required to perform the role of the Recreational Activity Officer, alongside the Activity Officers within the care home. This includes managing all recreational activities, providing residents with quality care, working collaboratively with other team members to plan and organise recreational activity programs, and ensuring individual resident's needs, values, spiritual and cultural preferences are taken into account when providing recreational care.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for an individual with a Cert IV in Leisure and Lifestyle, or degree level qualifications. Previous experience gained in a similar role is highly regarded. A Senior First Aid Certificate is essential, as is previous experience in caring for the elderly within an aged or community care setting. The ability to solve problems independently, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes are also necessary.
