About the Opportunity

Drakes Supermarkets is seeking an experienced and skilled Meat Department Supervisor to join their team in Queensland.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in butchery, excellent leadership skills and the ability to drive sales growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and driving business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve key performance indicators and drive sales growth
  • Implement strategic business plans and execute them effectively
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times
  • Mentor meat department managers to achieve key financial and departmental objectives
  • Ensure stock management including shrinkage prevention and merchandising
  • Ensure quality control and compliance
  • Oversee departmental operations
  • Manage people, coach and develop teams
  • Ensure departmental compliance with all Food Safety Standards

Requirements:

  • Australian Trade qualification in butchery
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a supermarket management role
  • Previous meat retail experience is desirable
  • Proven ability to achieve financial targets
  • Experience with stock management including merchandising and shrinkage prevention
  • Experience coaching and training team members
  • Successfully implementing procedures and executing strategies
  • Sound communication, organisational and time management skills
  • Strong people management and coaching skills
  • High level prioritisation, organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical ability and effective decision-making ability
  • Understanding of general WHS safety policies and procedures
