Empowering Women in Nepal through Education

This volunteer opportunity is designed to help women in Kathmandu develop essential skills, build confidence, and broaden their horizons.

Job Description
  • Teach adult women with varying age groups and backgrounds, focusing on English and other essential subjects like math, science, and personal development.
  • Use flexible teaching methods, including course books, conversational techniques, and creative activities like sports and games.
  • Improve literacy and life skills, contributing to raising education standards in Nepal where the adult literacy rate is 67%.
  • Engage students with a variety of lessons daily and bring unique ideas to motivate and inspire them, with support from local staff.

The project takes place at Chetana Mahila Secondary School, which was established to provide education to both younger and older women who missed out on schooling earlier in life.
