We are currently seeking a Permanent Fully Qualified Freight Train Driver for work out of Werris Creek.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Freight Train Driver, responsible for freight haulage tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures.
You will be required to prepare and provision locomotives and wagons for train operations by following established procedures. Additionally, you will perform minor fault repairs and failure rectifications in-field, conduct maintenance tasks, and assist rolling-stock maintainers to validate the integrity of rolling stock.
Your professional manner, strong customer focus, and commitment to safety will ensure a positive working relationship with customers and colleagues alike. A commitment to established processes and management of risks with the objective of zero injuries is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with freight haulage tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Prepare and provision locomotives and wagons for train operations by following established procedures
- Perform minor fault repairs and failure rectifications in-field
- Conduct maintenance tasks and assist rolling-stock maintainers to validate the integrity of rolling stock
- Certificate IV Rail Operations - provide evidence of units of competence successfully attained
- Current or previous NSW Safeworking Qualifications
- Evidence of route qualifications/experience
- Category 1 Rail Safety Workers Medical or willingness to obtain one
- Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one
- High level of literacy, numeracy, and comprehension skills
- Commitment to a safety culture, and a can-do customer focus
- Professionalism, integrity, reliability, and a positive attitude
