We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Train Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of freight across the country.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with freight haulage tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Prepare and provision locomotives and wagons for train operations by following established procedures
- Perform minor fault repairs and failure rectifications in-field
- Undertake maintenance tasks and assist rolling-stock maintainers to validate the integrity of rolling stock (including brakes), and ensure all operational systems are safe and effective
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner with a strong customer and safety focus
- Ensure a commitment to established processes and management of risks with the objective of zero injuries
The successful candidate will possess a Certificate IV in Rail Operations, current or previous NSW Safeworking Qualifications, evidence of route qualifications/experience, and a Category 1 Rail Safety Workers Medical certificate. They will also have a high level of literacy, numeracy, and comprehension skills, as well as a commitment to a safety culture and a can-do customer focus.
