We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Climate Change and Sustainability Services Team as a Closure and Environmental Liabilities Specialist.
Job DescriptionAs a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on complex projects across various sectors, including mining, oil and gas, and energy. Your role will involve providing technical advice regarding closure strategies, cost estimating, and implementation.
You will support our clients in managing their asset closure strategies and costs, working closely with financial assurance teams to assess the reasonableness of closure plans and cost estimates.
Clear communication skills will be essential in conveying findings and recommendations to key internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Knowledge of cost estimating and modeling for the closure and rehabilitation of large resources assets.
- Understanding of common asset closure techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to understand complex risks associated with asset closure.
- Tertiary degree in a related field, preferably engineering, environmental sciences, and/or finance or similar disciplines.
Ideal candidates will also have experience completing or participating in financial assurance processes, or working on operating sites. However, most importantly, they will have the aptitude, attitude, and willingness to learn.
