Speech Pathologist Role

The Speech Pathologist role is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and passionate professional to work with clients of all ages and backgrounds.

You will provide individualized support and therapy to help them communicate effectively and overcome challenges related to speech and language.

  • Support individuals to speak more clearly and be understood

  • Assist people who may have trouble putting their ideas and thoughts into words and sentences or who may need support with reading and writing

  • Provide strategies to support smooth speech delivery and management of stuttering to increase confidence

  • Work with adults and children who have a range of conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental delays, Stammers, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual disabilities, Cleft Palate, and Voice disorders

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each client

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to clients and their families

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay up-to-date on best practices and research in speech pathology

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality speech pathology services to clients across a range of settings, including clinics, schools, and community-based programs

  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans to address a range of communication disorders and difficulties

  • Implement evidence-based interventions and therapies to support clients' communication goals and outcomes

  • Monitor and evaluate client progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed

  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practice in speech pathology

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology or related field

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Speech Pathologist

  • Proven experience working with clients with a range of communication disorders and difficulties

  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based interventions and therapies in speech pathology

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals

  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with strong problem-solving and time management skills
