About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Communications Specialist to play a crucial role in enhancing our strategic communication with the community.

Your mission will be to deliver engaging, accessible, and quality information through various channels, including digital and print media.

With a focus on continuous improvement and creativity, you will support divisions across the organisation to inform and educate the community about key programs, events, policies, and initiatives.

  • Develop effective strategies and communications plans.
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of key external and internal communications.
  • Provide strategic communication advice to internal clients.
  • Develop content for major channels, including digital, social media, newsletters, publications, print material, and internal communications.
  • Represent the organisation on joint communication teams with key external stakeholders, as necessary.
  • Manage a diverse range of stakeholder requests and time-manage concurrent work across multiple groups with differing needs.
  • Ensure communications activities align with the organisational narrative and strategic communications frameworks.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication channels and executions, using findings to optimise strategies and enhance future campaigns.
Key Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum five years of experience in strategic communications, including digital, media, issues management, and strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in recognising and interpreting quality content for various audiences.
  • Experience working with stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Skilled in managing complex projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to negotiate, develop, and influence others towards common organisational outcomes.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute positively to a team.
  • A high degree of integrity and professionalism.
