Business Application Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled developer to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality business applications using Visual FoxPro 9.0.

This is a remote position with opportunities to work on complex business applications built using Visual FoxPro 9.0 Service Pack 2.

  • Develop and Maintain Applications: Our ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of developing, maintaining, and enhancing business applications, along with outstanding communication skills in English.
  • Legacy System Management: The successful candidate will lead the modernization and migration of legacy systems where applicable.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to junior developers and participate in code reviews to ensure best practices.
  • System Optimization: Analyze and optimize existing code for performance and scalability.
  • Documentation: Write clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing project updates and participating in meetings with stakeholders, using fluent English.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality business applications using Visual FoxPro 9.0. They will also lead the modernization and migration of legacy systems where applicable, provide technical leadership to junior developers, and participate in code reviews to ensure best practices. Additionally, they will analyze and optimize existing code for performance and scalability, write clear and comprehensive technical documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in Visual FoxPro 9.0 development, excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, experience with legacy system migration and integration with newer technologies, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred skills include experience in modern development environments or exposure to other programming languages (e.g., C#, .NET), familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, and knowledge of source control systems (e.g., Git).
