We are looking for a results-driven Pallet Control Team Leader to join our logistics team.

About the Role

This role is responsible for standardizing and improving pallet tracking processes across our network. We rent most of our pallets to customers, who need them tracked and returned.

You will work closely with teams to monitor key performance indicators, investigate discrepancies, and provide training on effective pallet control procedures.

This position indirectly leads a small team responsible for pallet management across Tasmania and Melbourne, requiring occasional travel to Launceston, Hobart, Burnie, or Melbourne (Webb Dock).

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement efficient pallet control procedures that positively impact our base processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with operations, sales, and finance teams to drive continuous improvement in pallet management.
  • Provide training and development in effective pallet control procedures for roles contributing to pallet control within logistics.
  • Support coverage initiatives and succession planning for key roles related to pallet management.
  • Monitor KPI performance and present regular reports to management highlighting trends, opportunities, and threats.
  • Support commercial and sales teams by providing insights into pallet management to inform customer terms and conditions, quoting, and pricing.
Key Skills and Experience

We require:

  • A background in leading teams focused on process improvement.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
  • Intermediate or above proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using IT systems to manage information.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail, including financial acumen and data analysis.
