
Logistics Process Improvement Specialist

We operate a critical logistics network connecting Tasmanian businesses and communities with customers, suppliers, and markets across Australia and globally.
This position involves leading pallet management across our logistics network, standardising and improving processes to enhance customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate will track and manage rented pallets, assist the business in reporting against key performance indicators, investigate discrepancies, liaise with customers, review customer terms and conditions, provide role coverage, and train colleagues in effective pallet control.
This role indirectly leads a small team responsible for pallet management spread across Tasmania and Melbourne. Travel is required, ideally based at Launceston or other locations within Tasmania or Melbourne.
About the Role- Key Responsibilities:
- Lead effective pallet control procedures and influence positive improvements to base processes and systems.
- Drive continuous improvement in pallet management by identifying and solving repetitive issues related to pallet imbalances.
- Provide training and development in effective pallet control procedures for all roles contributing to pallet control.
- Support role coverage initiatives for pallet controllers and succession planning for key roles related to pallet management.
- Monitor KPI performance and engage with operational teams to present regular reports to management.
- Support commercial and sales teams by providing pallet management insights to inform customer terms and conditions, quoting, and pricing.
- Background and experience in leading teams focused on process improvement.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Intermediate or above proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experienced in using IT systems to manage information.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail including financial acumen, data analysis, and interpretation.
- People management experience with a focus on training and development.
