Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a team of 40+ staff, ensuring the venue runs smoothly across all departments.
  • Manage daily operations of a large, multi-level venue, coordinating front-of-house, bar, kitchen, and other departments.
  • Foster a positive work environment, mentoring staff, driving performance, and ensuring development opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for budgeting, cost control, labor management, rostering, and reporting, ensuring efficient and profitable venue operations.
  • Collaborate with the head chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth kitchen operations, maintaining high food quality, and managing kitchen costs.
  • Develop marketing strategies to drive footfall, sales, and brand awareness, working closely with the marketing team to create compelling offers and events.
  • Implement operational systems, processes, and standards to ensure consistency and quality of service across all areas.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing large venues with a team of 40+ staff. Background in bars, pubs, nightclubs, breweries, or restaurants essential.
  • Strong people management skills with a focus on team development, coaching, and fostering a positive work culture.
  • Ability to manage costs, maximize profitability, and drive revenue through effective operational and marketing strategies.
  • Experience managing multi-level venues, including overseeing bar and kitchen operations, cost control, and rostering systems.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and the ability to work collaboratively with a head chef.
  • Ability to remain composed and efficient in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Clear, positive communication skills with both staff and customers.
  • Innovative and solutions-oriented approach to managing the venue and handling challenges as they arise.
