Job Description

As a pivotal member of our ESG research team, you will play a crucial part in driving forward-thinking sustainability analysis and insights in Australia. Our goal is to provide critical knowledge that helps institutional investors identify untapped opportunities and potential risks that traditional investment research may overlook.

Key Responsibilities
  • Publish high-quality research content on emerging sustainability issues in Australia, providing actionable insights for companies and industries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative analytical models reflecting regional specifics.
  • Represent MSCI as a credible thought leader at conferences, events, and client meetings, showcasing strong point-of-view expertise.
  • Engage with local media and regulators, positioning MSCI as the spokesperson for sustainability research.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 7+ years of professional experience in investment research, financial services, consulting, or industry experience, with a focus on data analysis and quantitative models.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in an accessible way.
  • Experience with sustainability analysis is not required but a demonstrated interest in integrating sustainability and climate issues into investment decisions is essential.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degrees (Masters or PhD) or industry accreditation are preferred.

Maintaining market insights for Australia and having mining or material sector expertise are highly valued. Familiarity with MSCI sustainability tools, Python, Matlab, or Geospatial data modeling tools is a plus.
