About the Role

The Physiotherapist will play a crucial role in the Allied Health Rapid Assessment, Intervention and Discharge – Emergency Department (RAID-ED) Team. Their primary objective is to prevent hospital admissions from the Emergency Department (ED) and facilitate early discharges through timely allied health multidisciplinary intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • To work with patients who have complex, comorbid and social presentations to plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within the ED environment.
  • To support existing medical, nursing and community teams in Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD).
Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have substantial experience working in the emergency department and/or as a primary contact practitioner treating challenging patients with chronic and complex conditions. They will also have excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills, including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Clinical experience in Physiotherapy.
  • Extensive post graduate clinical experience in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and demonstrated core competency skills in Cardiorespiratory, orthopaedic, gerontology, and Neurological Physiotherapy.
  • Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and teaching.
