About Our Team

Our team is responsible for developing and implementing policies and programs that support the Department's mission to protect Australia's national security and facilitate legitimate trade. We are a dynamic and collaborative team that values diversity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policy projects that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of border operations
  • Lead a team to deliver complex work and manage multiple high-profile priorities
  • Engage and maintain productive working relationships with government and industry stakeholders
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Department's reform agenda and provide specialized advice on complex policy projects
  • Manage programs and projects, including facilitating input from stakeholders and managing timeframes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Highly developed policy and program management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in policy and program development and implementation
