About the Role:

Our team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to work as a Policy Officer or Senior Policy Officer in the Families and Safety Branch. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing policy advice, supporting the development of policies and programs, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve better life outcomes for First Nations Australians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing policy advice in areas such as First Nations family safety, ending gender-based violence, justice, and child safety
  • Contributing to the development of policies and programs that support First Nations Australians
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to achieve policy objectives
  • Representing the work area in relation to policy development and program management

What You'll Need:

  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and writing skills
  • Ability to work successfully as a team member and collaborate across program areas
  • Experience in managing, coordinating, and writing briefs for senior executive and Senate Estimates
  • Good understanding of NIAA systems and processes, particularly in relation to financial reporting
  • Track record of delivering high-quality work across multiple tasks, demonstrating attention to detail
