Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Officer/Senior Policy Officer to join our Families and Safety Branch. The successful candidate will have strong analytical, stakeholder management, and writing skills, with a passion for working on policy and program reforms that improve life outcomes for First Nations Australians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpreting and drafting policy and/or program documents for review by senior staff
  • Contributing to the development of policy and/or program documents for review and publication
  • Providing advice on policy and/or program areas
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and representing the work area in relation to policy development and/or program management
Requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully as a team member and collaborate across program areas
  • Experience in managing, coordinating, and writing briefs for senior executive and Senate Estimates
  • Good understanding of NIAA systems and processes, particularly in relation to financial reporting
  • Track record of delivering high-quality work across multiple tasks, demonstrating attention to detail
